Description

These undead mummies are monk class, but despite that drop warrior planar armor: the Indicolite Armor set and They will cast Strong Disease on their target, like lesser mummies cast Rabies.

Editor's Note: In the Scars of Velious expansion, after the Warrens Era in the March 14, 2001 patch they drop Legionnaire Scale Armor set for Iksar Warriors.

Lore

Seemingly mummified humanoids with monk-like abilities, the kiraikeui were created by Innoruuk — probably from human slaves or converts — as masters of martial combat. It is thought that he did so out of a grudging admiration for the monkish iksar followers of Cazic-Thule, who had long performed their master's will dutifully. Like all undead, the kiraikeui are utterly without fear of death or harm.

As they fight, kiraikeui tend to suck air into their desiccated lungs, causing a shrill sound to be emitted from their bodies; of course, being undead, they have no need to breathe, but this behavior is either habitual or they simply enjoy the grating, awful sound they produce. Sometimes these sounds take the form of taunts, intended to stir the hate in the breasts of their opponents. When a kiraikeu closes for battle, its movements are deceptively quick. Its diseased touch causes horrific wounds that continue to plague its foes long after a blow has been struck.

In a grim parody of human monastic orders, more powerful kiraikeui who excel at serving their master's will can eventually become "Master Kiraikeui." The ill-seeming joke does not end there, however — only one Master Kiraikeui may advance to become the "Grandmaster Kiraikeui." A kiraikeui's increase in power is thought to derive both from gaining prestige through winning battles on Innoruuk's behalf and from continual exposure to the essence of hatred on Innoruuk's home plane.

Strategy

These have low magic resist. They will proc Strong Disease. They are undead, so undead magic works well on them. They do not see rogues, but do see normal invis, though invis to undead would work. They have a very large aggro range, but a small pass-on range, so they will aggro with anything close, but not aggro the mobs around them... usually.
