General Thoughts

This is a series of related quests requiring planar-eligible Warriors to acquire both common and rare drops from various Islands in The Plane of Sky. The rewards for these tests were the best items in the game when The Plane of Sky was released in the original game. Many of these items remain excellent gear in The Ruins of Kunark and The Scars of Velious expansions.

Historical Changes

Note: Quest rewards for many Plane of Sky quests were revamped during The Ruins of Kunark expansion with the July 19, 2000 patch on EQ Live. Rewards on FV Classic and FV Kunark servers are currently (as of November 11, 2022) the pre-revamp versions.

Walkthrough

Talk to Torgon Blademaster in the Plane of Sky.

You say, 'hail Torgon Blademaster'

Torgon Blademaster says 'Greetings. Are you a true warrior?

You say, 'I am a true warrior'

Torgon Blademaster says 'Then you shall be tested as one. Choose. Do you wish to be tested by Falorn or Ogog?

Falorn

You say, 'i wish to be tested by falorn'

Torgon Blademaster says 'So be it, warrior. Take this book and read it. When you are finished, hand it back to me and I shall summon the mighty warrior Falorn to test you.
Torgon Blademaster says 'Falorn, come forth!
Falorn says 'I am Falorn. Good day to thee.
Torgon Blademaster says 'Farewell.

You say, 'hail Falorn'

Falorn says 'Do not waste my time, Xekl . Do you wish to take the test of blades or not? Or do you have one of my old trinkets you wish to trade in?

You say, 'I have an old trinket to trade in'

Falorn says 'Ahh, I've given out some lesser trinkets in the past that many have gotten bored with. I'm willing to accept Aerated Pauldrons in trade for Pauldrons of the Blue Sky.

You say, 'I wish to take the test of blades'

Falorn says 'The test of blades is not easy. I hope you are as powerful as you are brave. What do you wish to strive for? Strength, force, or skill?

Warrior Test of Strength

Falorn says 'Remember, true strength lies not only in the body, but in the mind as well. Return to me a bronze disc, a small pick, and a stone amulet. If you manage to do this, my runed wind amulet shall be yours.

Warrior Test of Force

Falorn says 'Foolishness or bravery, Xekl ? We shall see. Return to me a pearlescent globe, silver mesh and a spiroc air totem. In return, you will receive both my deepest respect and the aerated pauldrons.

Reward: Aerated Pauldrons (upgrades to Pauldrons of the Blue Sky)

Warrior Test of Skill

Falorn says 'The test of skill it is. Go upward and retrieve these three items: an ivory tessera, a small ruby, and an azure ring. Return these to me and the azure ruby ring shall be yours.

Ogog says 'Ogog not smart, but Ogog smarter than you. You ready for Ogog or no?

You say, 'I am ready for ogog'

Ogog says 'Ok. Ogog got some hard things for you. You do bash, smash, or think test?

Warrior Test of Bash

Ogog says 'This one hard. Ogog like it. Ogog need efreeti battle axe, some honey nectar, bottled djinni, and ethereal emerald. Then Ogog make you best basher.'

Warrior Test of Smash

Ogog says 'Ogog smash good. . . Ogog no think you can smash good. But Ogog let you try. You get Ogog Djinni War Blade, some virulent wasp poison, and a mottled spiroc feather. Ogog say you good warrior if you do this!'

Warrior Test of Think

Ogog says 'Ogog think you can do this one maybe. Ogog no know, though. You bring Ogog efreeti belt, pegasus statue, a spiroc wind totem, and a wind tablet. Ogog say good luck!'
